Into Balance is pleased to host the Mindfulness Outreach Initiative's Lincoln Sitting Group on Fridays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity for beginners to learn the basics of insight meditation and for seasoned practitioners to connect with skilled teachers and a supportive group of fellow meditators. The hour consists of insight meditation instruction, and a guided or silent meditation practice. We hope to see you there soon.  

Into Balance - a wellbeing community:

Fridays | 6:30pm to 7:30pm

The Lincoln Sangha, a meditation group based in the westernized Zen tradition founded by Thich Nhat Hanh, meets weekly at Into Balance. The Sangha meets every Sunday morning at 10:30 AM for sitting meditation (silent and guided), walking meditation, learning, and friendship. The Sangha is an open group that welcomes all. Use the contact form (envelope icon at the top right of this page) if you have any questions.

Weekly gatherings follow this format (people are welcome to come and go throughout the morning as they choose):

  • Formal Practice- 10:30-11:25 AM (brief check-in, sit/walk/sit)

  • Weekly Rotation- 11:30-noon (discussion may continue until 12:30 PM).

FIRST SUNDAY- Recitation of the Five Mindfulness Trainings and Tea Ceremony

SECOND SUNDAY - Sharing Sunday (bring poetry, music, readings, personal practice stories, etc)

THIRD SUNDAY - Special Speaker/topic - TBA

FOURTH SUNDAY - Reading and Discussion- (from a book by Thich Nhat Hanh)

FIFTH SUNDAY - (When this occurs)…Open Theme

If you are a healthcare, human services, or wellbeing professional; If you would like to join a group of multidisciplinary health and well-being providers in a professional, compassionate practice that emphasizes community building among its practitioners, with its clients, and with the greater community, in service to those practitioners, clients and the community; If you would like to join an organization that is grounded in evidenced-based mindfulness principles and practices or if you are simply curious about what a practice like this could look like; please contact me at Into Balance by clicking/tapping the envelope icon in the upper right of this page to send me a message.

We have space to add 1 or 2 counselors, social workers, psychologists, psychiatric and primary care nurse practitioners, registered dietitians, or fitness instructors (Yoga, Tai Chi, fitness trainers, etc.). If your discipline is not listed here and you believe you can make a case for how it would fit well with this concept, I’m happy to speak with you about it.
